The main objective of the VALREC Project is industrial research and the demonstration of new advanced, cost-effective solutions that ensure a more efficient and traceable closing of loops—thus increasing trust in secondary materials in the market—for large volumes of major construction material resources (mainly concrete, ceramics, and gypsum) throughout their entire supply chain.
The VALREC project — “Innovative solutions to promote the VALORization of C&D waste and the use of recovered materials under Circular Economy criteria in the Community of Madrid” — has been funded through the 2020 call for proposals for grants co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The purpose of this funding is to contribute to improving Public-Private Cooperation in R&D&I by supporting Technology Innovation Projects with a driving effect, developed by open innovation hubs in the Community of Madrid, within the framework of the Regional Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3), under the ERDF Operational Programme of the Community of Madrid for the 2014–2020 period.
